Ajax“>Nicolás Tagliafico may still leave Ajax during the winter transfer period. Various French media, including RMC Sport, report that Olympique Marseille has now reported to Amsterdam for the Argentine defender.
Marseille would like to bring Tagliafico to the south of France on a rental basis and hopes to negotiate an option to purchase in the negotiations with Ajax. Jorge Sampaoli, the Argentinian trainer of Marseille, is said to play an important role in l’OM’s interest in Tagliafico. The Ligue 1 club is said to have already contacted Ajax.
RMC reports, however, that it will be difficult for Marseille to reach a deal with Ajax. With a full playing calendar, the team from Amsterdam is not eager to let Tagliafico leave on a rental basis. Sampaoli nevertheless wants to give it a try. The coach already worked with the left back at the 2018 World Cup.
Tagliafico has played nine games in the Eredivisie this season, two of which as a basic player.
