Charlie Woods is following in the footsteps of his father Tiger and could play on the PGA Tour in the coming years according to world number 1 Jon Rahm.
Tiger Woods‘ son made a big impression once again last month when, for the second year in a row, he proved to his advantage alongside his father in the PNC Championship.
Woods father and son were second at the Orlando tournament, and 12-year-old Charlie is no stranger with a solid hitting and flawless putting.
During last week’s Sentry Tournament of Champions, Jon Rahm said he wouldn’t be surprised to see him make his mark on the PGA Tour one day.
“I hope for the best for Charlie”, said the Basque. ” He has a lot of talent. Admittedly, a lot more talent than me at 12 years old. If he continues to work hard, which I am sure he will do, I have no doubt for a second that we will one day see him sitting here. ”
Rahm, who has been a dad since last year, admitted watching Tiger and Charlie play together made him look to the future.
“It was really cool to see. We realize thanks to this tournament how much Tiger transmitted to Charlie. For other fathers it is a source of inspiration. I hope that one day I will be able to be at the start and play with Kepa. ”
World number 1 Jon Rahm started the season with a second place finish last week in Maui behind Cameron Smith and he is determined to defend his place at the top of the hierarchy.
