UAEMÉX TAKES NINTH PLACE IN CONDDE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Toluca, State of Mexico; January 14, 2022.-

Lhe delegation from the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) that participated in the national championships of the National Council of Sports for Education (CONDDE) had an outstanding performance by occupying the ninth place in the general classification and counting 25 medals: 7 of gold, 4 silver and 14 bronze.

The head of the University Sports Department, Sonia Álvarez Aguilar, explained that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the suspension of the National Universiade that would take place in León, Guanajuato, in 2020, the format had to be changed and these championships had to be held. nationals in different states of the country in the year 2021.

We had a difficult year, but thanks to the efforts of our athletes and coaches, who donned our university’s jersey, these results could be obtained. They were trainings online, at home and in the park, always seeking to attend to health indications and in the end, excellent results were obtained, coupled with the fact that they were also very aware of the health of each member”, He detailed.

The disciplines in which awards were obtained were: athletics, boxing, badminton, basketball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, beach soccer, table tennis, gymnastics, bowling, karate, archery and kickboxing.

He specified that the boxing discipline team is the one that obtained the highest medals and added seven.

The contingent of the Autonomous Mexiquense participated in the national championships, held in the states of Coahuila, Yucatán, San Luis Potosí, Jalisco and Durango, among others.

Now preparations begin for the National Universiade, which will take place if the health situation allows it and whose venue is yet to be defined.

The head of the University Sports Department, Sonia Álvarez Aguilar, trusted that the positive results will continue at the national level and that the name of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico will continue to be raised.
