All in all good draws for Camila Giorgi and Jasmine Paolini at the Australian Open, first Grand Slam of 2022 (prize money of 54.2 million dollars) which starts on Monday on the hard courts of Melbourne Park in the Australian metropolis. Both blues were included in the first quarter of the draw, the one manned by the world number one, as well as home favorite, Ashleigh Barty.
Camila Giorgi, n.33 del ranking e 30 del seeding, will debut against the Russian Anastasia Potapova, n.67 WTA, never faced in career. The 20-year-old from Saratov is on her fourth appearance in the Slam Down Under where she reached the third round last year. Tenth participation, however, for the 30-year-old from Macerata who also boasts the third round as her best result, achieved on three occasions (2015, 2019 and 2020).
For the blue number one second round against the winner of the match between the Czech Tereza Martincova and the American Lauren Davis and probable third round against Barty.
