‘Two outgoing transfers at Ajax, Tagliafico cannot leave’

January 13, 2022Ajax“>Victor Jensen and Danilo seem to be leaving Ajax this winter. Jensen has already been linked with a move to Scandinavia, where Malmö FF and Rosenborg BK are targeting the talent. The Brazilian may therefore also leave now that the club has brought Brian Brobbey back to Amsterdam for six months. He is seen as the ideal second striker, which means that Danilo can seek refuge elsewhere.

The striker was the reserve striker behind Sébastien Haller in the first half of the season, but he showed too little in that role. He rarely managed to positively influence the game of the team from Amsterdam with his substitutes. The attacker still has a contract for a year and a half in the Johan Cruijff ArenA and that is why Ajax hopes, according to club watcher Johan Inan, for a definitive departure. “Or they have to extend his contract for a year and rent him out again,” he says in the Football podcast of the General Newspaper.

Jensen can also look forward to a new club, although that will be on a temporary basis anyway. Ajax sees potential in the Danish footballer, but the competition is too great at the moment. The midfielder is still on a contract until mid-2023 and would be allowed to make flying hours elsewhere on a rental basis. “I think it will stay with that. I expect Tagliafico to finish the season at Ajax, although you never know how things will go in the last days of the transfer period. It may just be that a very nice club will come for Tagliafico and that Ajax can hardly stop him.”

Where the Argentinian has been undisputed at Ajax in recent years, he now has to settle for a role as a reserve. That has everything to do with Daley Blind, who has left the center of defense for the left-back position. Tagliafico is logically not happy with his role and is linked to several English clubs. If he does leave, Ajax must enter the market. “They have to have a back-up. They’re really not big in the left back,” concludes Inan.
