If the Real Club Marítimo del Abra de Getxo was the first club to start the heavy sailing competition in this 2022 season with the Digital Náutica Trophy last weekend; Now it is the turn of the Real Club Náutico de Vigo with the J70 Villalia Winter Series that will celebrate its fourth and last act in Galician waters. In the end, three outstanding monotypes arrive: La Guardia & Moreira by Gonzalo Araújo, Sogacsa by Sancho Páramo and Pablo Iglesias, and Marnatura 1 by Luis Bugallo.

There will be two days, the first on Saturday starting at half past one in the afternoon, and on Sunday at ten. In both, the judges, led by Jaime García from A Coruña, will try to cover the planned program: four sleeves per day.

If they do or even manage to complete 7 heats, it would mean that the entire fleet could miss out on a third score… which could offer surprises in the leading group.

To highlight the debut of the Lisbon ship Sail Cascais, which will be led by one of the best Lusitanian skippers of all time… the Olympian Vasco Serpa… who will have a crew of many carats in Vigo waters: Mafalda Pires de Lima, Diogo Pinto, Guilherme Gomes and Ruben Castels.

This team, together with the boats from Ourense, Abril Verde and Abril Rojo of the Pérez Canal, as well as the Pazo de Cea with Ramón Ojea at the tiller of the Marítimo de Canido and the Solventis from Coruña of Malalo Bermúdez de Castro… are the weapons that the two J70 pursuers of Gonzalo Araújo: Sogacsa and Marnatura, to catch up with the man from Lugo.

Emotion guaranteed until the last act in the Villalia Winter Series of J70, with a very high level and that together with the series that are being held in Catalan waters, make up the highlight of one design sailing at the beginning of this season… with Vigo and Barcelona as benchmarks at the national level.
