One of the rarest 50ps in existence is the Kew Gardens coin.
Often bidders will go to great lengths to get their paws on one as they are popular with collectors.
It’s also because only 210,000 of them were put into circulation, making them one of the most sought after coins.
We’ve seen a rare coin from Kew Gardens sell for around £200-£300, but some could fetch even more.
Recently a rare coin with a minting error was sold for up to £721 on eBay.

This coin was created to commemorate the 2012 Olympic Games and is among the rarest as it features an explanation of the offside rule.
Just over a million were put into circulation and one recently sold for £31 on eBay.
3. Judo 50p – £27
More than 1.16 million of these judo coins were put into circulation in 2011 to celebrate the 2012 London Olympics.
It shows two athletes engaged in a judo fight, one of whom knocks his opponent to the ground.
Previously, a seller managed to get £27 on eBay for a copy he had of the coin.
4. Triathlon 50p – £16
The Triathlon 50 pence coin was also from the 2012 London Olympics.
It shows athletes practicing all three sports: swimming, cycling and running.
Only 1,163,500 were put into circulation in 2011.
5. Fight 50p – £16
Around 1.13 million of these coins entered circulation in 2011.
The 50 pence coin depicts two athletes wrestling in front of a crowd, one of whom is thrown to the ground.
Complete with your Olympic card, this 50p can sell for around 30 times its face value, if not more.
