The Atlanta Hawks traded Cam Reddish, Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round draft pick from the New York Knicks on Thursday for a first-round draft pick and Kevin Knox.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Lakers were among the teams that tried to work out a deal for Reddish but in the end it was the Knicks’ offer that won over Atlanta.
The Athletic media revealed that the Lakers offered two second-round picks in the draft but clearly the Hawks were not convinced by that proposal.
The 22-year-old forward has averages of 11.9 points and is shooting 37.9% from three-point range in 34 games played.
This failed change attempt makes it clear that the Lakers are desperately looking for alternatives that allow them to improve a roster that has not been able to meet expectations in the 2021-22 season.
Jerami Grant, Gary Trent Jr. and Myles Turner are other names that have been mentioned as possible market targets for the Lakers ahead of the February 10 trade deadline.
