After barely two months, Genoa has already ended the collaboration with Andriy Shevchenko. Under the Ukrainian, the club could only win one game.
The 45-year-old former top striker Shevchenko had only been working at the northern Italian club since November, where he succeeded the sacked Davide Ballerini.
But things didn’t go much better for the Ukrainian either. Shevchenko won only once, in the Coppa Italia against Salernitana.
In the Serie A, Zinho Vanheusden’s club does not get further than penultimate place, with only 12 points from 21 games, one more than red lantern Salernitana.
The elimination in the Coppa Italia earlier this week against AC Milan of Alexis Saelemaekers turned out to be the proverbial straw.
