The step was too high for ASSE

The players of Jerome Bonnet lost to Montpellier this Saturday (3-0). Quickly out of the match by conceding two goals in the first quarter of an hour, the Stéphanoises ran after the score throughout the game, without ever really worrying the Montpellier women.

Second confrontation in a week between ASSE and MHSC after the big underperformance in the Coupe de France on the side of the Salif Keita stadium (2-7) and the elimination of Stéphanoises in the round of 16.

First ten minutes of quality for ASSE, which uses its main weapon in the person ofEsther Okoronkwo. Unfortunately that’s not enough against a big team in the championship which will prove intractable with two achievements in a few minutes. First on a distant free kick conceded by Lalia Storti, warned, full axis, the ball is sent into the area without anyone intervening, Johanna Elsig open the score (1-0 13′) then on an action built on the left side, Faustine Robert comes to double the bet on a cross shot (2-0 15′). Dominated, the Vertes will apply to defend well throughout this first period, they will not concede more goal during the first act.

The second period started badly for the Vertes who quickly conceded a third goal, the second of Faustine Robert in this game (3-0 49′). Jerome Bonnet tries to energize his team with the entries of Condon, Antoine, Coquard, Sakaki and Chaumette to come back to the score and force the decision but the players of Montpellier, serious, will not relax their domination and impose themselves very logically in this meeting. Coquard’s post in stoppage time will not change anything for the players of Jerome Bonnet. The Vertes are stagnating with an eighth consecutive match without a win in the league (seven losses, one draw). With five points, they are 11th in the standings, only the GPSO 92 Issy did less well with four points in twelve days.
