As the track is rebuilt every year, the start and track record report is started every season. Therefore, the first three riders reached the track records in the first race.
Ķibermanis, who started the fourth, corrected the start record (5.11 seconds) and made a good ride, went well in the “Horseshoe” and reached a new record at the finish with a few inaccuracies – a minute and 6.31 seconds.
Rostislav Gaitjukevich, the Russian with the eighth number, was the first to beat Kiberman’s records, reaching 5.07 seconds at the start, but beat Kiberman by 0.13 seconds at the finish.
Cipulis with Kleinberg, starting with the number 18, immediately after the start started several times at the edge of the track, inaccurately drove out of the “Shamrock” corners, starting at the edge, but in general made a pretty good trip, taking the 13th place after the first race and losing 0.75 seconds.
Next, the best time – a minute and 5.89 seconds – was reached by the German Francesco Friedrich in a duet with pusher Torsten Margis.
The second place after the first trip was taken by their compatriot Johannes Lohner’s pilot, 0.25 seconds behind, and the third – by the Canadian Justin Krips (+0.26).
Gaitjukevich (+0.29) took the fourth place, but immediately behind him was Kiberman (+0.42), followed by the British Brad Hall (+0.49).
The crew of Cipuulis did not start in the second race either. The pilot ran for too long, and the pusher jumped into the bob as the sledge drove out of the starting chute. As a result, Latvians hit the curbs even more than in the first trip. The next trip was also worse than the first trip, and I had to retreat one place down.
With the 14th place in the second race, Cipuulis crew won the 14th place in the PK stage, but in the ECC rating it was the eleventh, with the winner Friedrich losing 1.59 seconds.
Ķibermanis made small mistakes when entering the curb after leaving the “Shamrock” turn, but defended his position, ranking fifth in the PK rating and fourth – EC. He had the fourth best result in the race, but in the sum of two races he was 0.55 seconds behind Friedrich.
The crypt set a new track record of a minute and 5.80 seconds, but two German doubles still had to drive.
Lohner failed to overtake Cripps, making a mistake at the exit of the Wall turn, which caused several more mistakes.
The victory in the PK stage and the EC was won by Friedrich, who drove the second race with many mistakes, but the advantage gained in the first race helped to win. He had the second best result in the race, but in the sum of two races, Friedrich spent two minutes and 11.76 seconds on the track.
Crips was 0.19 seconds behind, and Lohners was 0.36 seconds behind. Gaitjukevich was fourth in 0.45 seconds behind Friedrich, followed by Hall (+0.62), and the German Christopheffer crew (+0.93) in sixth place.
27 crews took part in the stage.
The Francesco Friedrich of Germany won the World Cup this season after eight stages with 1703 points. Canadian Justin Krips climbed to the second place with 1530 points in the last stage, but the Russian Rostislav Gaitjukevich finished the top three with 1521 points.

In the women’s competition, Andy Steel took the 21st place in the PK stage and the ECC in the 12th place.
In the overall rating of PK, T.Dukurs ranked eighth, but Steel – 21st.
There will be a competition for four in bobsleigh on Sunday.

The end of the season is scheduled for the Beijing Olympics in February.
