VIDEO: Salah’s first goal at Africa Cup gives Egypt much-needed points | Africa Cup

On the first day of the Africa Cup, shadow favorite Egypt had suffered a defeat against Nigeria. So there was pressure on the kettle for the second group match.

Egypt dominated the entire match against Guinea-Bissau, a country of less than two million inhabitants, but swinging was not enough. So they looked at star player Salah.

In minute 69, Salah succeeded, although he did get some help from the Guinea-Bissau goalkeeper, because Salah’s volley was not untenable (see video).

Egypt also escaped the equalizer. Mama Baldé was devastating to make it 1-1, but his goal was disallowed for a prior foul. Trezeguet (ex-Anderlecht) came in at Egypt.

Nigeria is certain of the next round after two victories. Egypt could be that Wednesday, then it will play its third and final group match.
