It was about Olga Louny’s life – eXtra.cz

Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, where the Dakar Rally off-road and motorcycle race is taking place this year, singer Olga Lounová (40) and Martin Čábela (55) have struggled with one inconvenience after another. In the end, however, luck smiled on them and despite all the problems, they are still on their way to the finish ramp. They definitely do not give up the race, because they have decided to pass!

One bad luck after another

Although the Dakar Rally for Olga Louny and Martin Čábel did not start quite happily and they had to solve many problems during the first days, optimism did not leave them. The two-member team of competitors does not cease to believe in a happy ending. “I firmly believe that we will reach the finish line despite all the problems,” the singer confided. “I have amulets on my neck for good luck from my family, and so far in every problematic and sometimes quite serious situation, so-called luck in misfortune has worked.” Olga and Martin had to deal with, for example, burst fuel hose. “Gasoline sprayed on a hot engine under high pressure. We found out and fixed it in time,” Olga describes the events that complicated their lives in Dakar. But that was far from the only mess they got into. “The next day we shorted the cable from the alternator and another day from the starter, so we were lucky that it didn’t happen the same day and the engine didn’t start. Unfortunately, that day the hose burst three times and in a different place each time, so the repairs cost us precious points! ” Louny describes a moment when Martin and I could have had a bare life.

The local people surprised her

The singer does not hide that she has always been afraid of traveling to Saudi Arabia. But she changed her mind on the spot. “I have always been afraid to go to Saudi Arabia, but a lot has changed for tourists in recent years. The personal experience with the local people is absolutely surprising. Everyone is nice here, ” The singer described her impressions and added that kwhen the local people see that you are solving a problem on the way, for example, they stop immediately and try their best to help, even if it is a local pumper. “One Czech crew didn’t have any money to pay in cash and the card didn’t work for them, so the pumper told them that it was a gift or that maybe when he returned next year he would pay for it. We stopped at a camel herder and he immediately offered us free camel milk, ” said Olga, who knew first-hand the kindness of the locals.

“When we fell in, we were pulled by a local police officer. When our service car crashed with mechanics Panda and Milan, who are here every night so we can leave in the morning, the locals immediately rushed in and pulled out the car. When we solved the problem with the gearbox, which left us right after the first stage, they extended the opening hours at the local service to help us reach the necessary parts, “ describes Olga, who is already tired but grateful that she was able to try the Dakar Rally and fulfill an age-old dream.

He fulfills his dreams

“Dakar was my childhood dream. Perhaps the passage of the finish ramp will also come true for me. But not all days are over and anything can happen and we will not get there. Fatigue is rising, the weather is really desert and temperatures are rising above tropical temperatures. Not only the material but the whole team feels tired. I will be happy if everyone holds our fists together for good luck, ” closes the favorite singer.

Olga and Martin ride the Dakar for the first time, they have already joined the very experienced team of the Orion moto racing group, where the elite rider Martin Michek, who drove 2x the best Czech result in this Dakar, was 9th in two stages, which is the highest for Czech bikers so far. location in Dakar history. He was not unlucky either, and the Saudi driver’s car did not give him priority at the crossing and knocked him down at 80 km speed, yet he continued to race in high positions until his whole bike broke after jumping from the dune. He does not give up and continues to the next stage.
