Australian Open 2022: Eurosport’s TV program to broadcast the Grand Slam

Exclusive broadcaster of the tournament for ten years, Eurosport will offer this year the 110th edition of the Novak Djokovic Case'”>Australian Open without the world number one Novak Djokovic, expelled this Sunday by the Australian government because of his non-vaccination.

The first major event of the tennis season, the Australian Open begins this Monday, January 17 in Melbourne. To see the exchanges live on a screen, viewers will have to tune in to Eurosport, which has held all the rights to broadcast the tournament since 2012. The Discovery Group, which owns the channel, last September renewed its contract to secure the broadcast of the Grand Slam until 2030.

Contrary to one year ago, Eurosport offered live qualifying this week on its website and app.

For the next eight days, Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 will go on air every day from 1h to broadcast the first, second, third and fourth rounds. Before 9 a.m., Eurosport Tennis Club will recap on Eurosport 1 the highlights of the first meetings of the day. After offering the Australian night session, the same channel will also broadcast this magazine to close the day at the beginning of the afternoon French time.

From the quarter-finals on Tuesday, January 25, only Eurosport 1 will then offer all of the meetings, with Eurosport Tennis Club midday and late afternoon.

Eurosport Tennis Club will be presented by Olivier Canton. The consultants who will accompany the journalists of the channel will be Justine Henin, Arnaud Di Pasquale, Arnaud Clement, Camille Pin, Eric Deblicker and Jean-Paul Loth. The channel will also be backed by the Discovery Group’s team of international consultants, which includes Mats Wilander, Barbara Schett, John McEnroe, Misha Zverev and the new recruit Alizé Lim.
