New Lion will open the competition calendar of the Mexican Archery Federation, upon receiving the XLVIII National Outdoor Championship 2022 at Children Heroes Park High Performance Center.
The event will take place from January 24 to 30 and is part of the selection process for the Central American Games and Pan American Championships of 2023, as well as World Cups 2022.
“This event is very important for the Federation (FMTA) since it is part of the selection process that the archers will have, both recurve and compound (the modality), in order to seek classification for the 2023 events, which are among the most important to paris 2024.
“There will be the two Olympic medalists from Tokyo, Alejandra Valencia and Luis Álvarez, competing for a place in the pre-selection; around Nuevo León, among others, will be Valentina Vazquez who was recently pan-american junior champion in Cali and Mariana Avitia, Olympic medalist in London 2012, as well as the medalist in London, Aída Román, and other goalkeepers with the same objective, so it will be a very interesting event”said the president of the Mexican Archery Federation, Santiago Avitia.
In the composite modality, the figures that will attend the National are: Maya Becerra, bronze medalist, as well as Antonio Hidalgo, Michael Becerra Y Uriel Olvera, silver medal, from the World Cup in Yankton, South Dakota in the United States.
Nuevo León will be the first date from January 24 to 30; in the CNAR of the Mexico City The second date will be held from February 18 to 20, after that event the first three places of branch and modality will be chosen to attend El Salvador 2023.
