Ihattaren gets ‘tears in the eyes’ from Wim Kieft: ‘You are a winner’

January 15, 2022Wim Kieft‘s column in From Telegraph has been well received by Mohamed Ihattaren. The nineteen-year-old midfielder is grateful to the analyst for his beautiful words.

Kieft regretted the way Ihattaren’s career is in danger of stranding and also pointed to agent Mino Raiola. “It shows poor guidance from Mino Raiola that he lets someone of 19 years old go from PSV to Juventus on the last transfer day and sends them directly to Genoa,” the former Orange international wrote.

It emotionalized Ihattaren. ‘William, thank you. My family and I really appreciate what you have written,” the much-discussed former PSV player responds via his Instagram account. ‘You are a real winner and the youngest Golden Shoe winner. 1988 supports me, it brings tears to my eyes. First Ronald Koeman, then Gerald Vanenburg and you. Willem Kieft, the man who scored one of the most important goals in the Netherlands.’

“I have great admiration for all these men. I didn’t expect this,” continues Ihattaren. “I’m going to do my very best not to disappoint you. 1988 guys, thanks again. Once legends always legends.’ Finally, Ihattaren makes a special call: ‘And Willem, will you come and train with me and Gerald? Gerald puts them in front from the right, I from the left and you in the rush in the Olympic Stadium. Then I can really thank you with a training.’
