Syed Modi International Badminton ChampionshipsIt is a badminton competition held in India every year since 2009. At the beginning of its establishment, the competition belonged to the BWF Grand Prix series (The BWF Grand Prix), so it is also known as the Indian Badminton Grand Prix. This event and the Indian Open Badminton Championship are two different events.

Tournament history

In memory of the late badminton player Syed Modi, the Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association of India held the Syed Modi Memorial Badminton Championships in Lucknow from 1991 to 2003 (Syed Modi Memorial Badminton Tournament) domestic competitions. It was restructured into an international tournament in 2004, but it was suspended from 2005 to 2008 due to a standoff between the Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association and the Uttar Pradesh government. In 2009, the competition wasSyed Modi International Badminton ChampionshipsIt was re-opened under the name and became one of the stops of the World Badminton Grand Prix. In 2018, the BWF implemented a new world tour system. This event is now a second-level fifth-level event (Super 300), and the total prize money has been increased to 150,000 US dollars.
