Manga master and author of “Big Rice Bucket” Shinji Mizushima died of pneumonia in a hospital in Tokyo, Japan on the 10th of this month at the age of 82.
Mizushima Shinji was born in Niigata, Japan. He debuted as a cartoonist in 1958, and has successively published works themed on baseball. Among them, the baseball comic “Big Rice Bucket”, which began in 1972, is his masterpiece that has lasted for more than 10 years. The serialization of the comic ended in 2018, and the single-line series has accumulated more than 205 copies, which have been read by many readers across generations.
