The second matchday of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Group D has been completed. Nigeria to the last 16 and Egypt managed to keep the opportunity.

Nigeria will face Sudan at the Stade Omnisport Roumde Adjia. In a match that started on Saturday (15/1/2022) night WIB, the Super Eagles won 3-1.

Nigeria’s opener was created in the third minute through Samuel Chukwueze. Taiwo Awoniyi then doubled the score just before half-time and Moses Simon made it 3-0 with just one minute of the second half.

Sudan can only reply once in the 70th minute. The goal was born through the execution of Walieldin Khedr’s penalty.

In another match, Egypt won a 1-0 victory against Guinea-Bissau at Roumde Adjia Stadium, Sunday (16/1/2022) early morning WIB. The winning goal was scored by Mohamed Salah in the 69th minute, after his measured shot went smoothly into the goal.

Guinea-Bissau actually had equalized the score in the 82nd minute through Mama Balde. The referee then annulled it from the video assistant referee (VAR) review because there was a foul before the goal.
