Lewandowski beats Messi at FIFA gala, Putellas is best player | football

The FIFA Best Football Awards were presented tonight in Zurich. Kevin De Bruyne won a spot in the Team of the Year for the second year in a row. Lewandowski and Putellas were crowned Player of the Year respectively.

During the presentation of the Golden Ball at the end of November, there was still outrage. Lewandowski did not excel, but Messi then took the top prize.

Justice was served at the FIFA gala tonight. Bayern’s Polish goal-scoring machine received more votes than Messi and follows himself on the honors list.

Barca star Alexia Putellas was voted Player of the Year. She won the double, because the Spanish also won the Golden Ball.

The Puskas Award was just right for Erik Lamela. The Argentinian’s rabona as a Tottenham winger against Arsenal was voted Goal of the Year.

From the Belgian side, only Kevin De Bruyne was awarded. He won a spot in the Team of the Year.
