Silver and Bronze for the Arco Vícar Club in the Andalusian Indoor Championship

VÍCAR.- Vícar‘s archery has obtained an outstanding performance in the Andalusian Championship Sala 2022, held last weekend in Jaén, where they have rubbed shoulders with the elite of Andalusian archers, achieving two medals and several outstanding positions in the different classes and divisions. Twelve were the members of the Arco Vícar Club who attended the event, held at the ‘Las Fuentezuela’ Sports Center, with Juan José Marín López and Montse Fernández Fornells winning the medals.

From the City Council of Vícar, the mayor Antonio Bonilla, has once again highlighted these new achievements of vicarious sport, “in a discipline such as archery, which is gaining more and more followers in our municipality, which recently hosted the Championship of Andalusia or by teams, and where the good level of the archers and vicar archers was revealed, which has now been reaffirmed with these new medals”.

Nearly forty clubs gathered in this championship organized by the Andalusian Archery Federation (FATA) and the Santa Catalina Club, and in which the Arco Vícar Club ranked eleventh in the medal table. Juan José Marín was silver in Recurve Squirrel, with a total of 452 points, after 60 arrows, being only surpassed by Pedro Rodríguez from Club Asirio, who with 501 points, won gold, while the bronze went to Emma Marquez , also from the Assyrian Club, with 410 points

As for the second of the vicarious medals, it was achieved by the goalkeeper Montse Fernández Fornells, in the instinctive Senior Women’s category, where her partner, Irene Rodríguez López, also had an outstanding performance, who was left on the verge of medals, after falling in the quarterfinals. in the final, against María del Carmen Cañones, from Arco Alfacar, who would finally win the gold.

The rest of the archers and vicar archers also had a good championship, the alevín Fernanda Michelle Rojas, was fifth in Recurvo feminine, while in Recurvo Benjamín, Manuel Jesús Pérez, Daniel López Baños and Juan Bonilla, were sixth, seventh and eighth. For his part, Juan José Barroso Fernández was sixth in Recurve Senior and Juan José Barroso Ruiz, ninth in Compound Veteran. Eighth place also for Martín Rebollo, in Senior Compound, while the child Pascual Marín López, was ninth in Child Recurve.
