Naomi Osaka tops list of highest-paid female athletes

Triumphs inside the courts and others outside them, have Naomi Osaka, as the highest paid athlete in the world.

The tennis player born in Japan, of Japanese and Haitian roots, leads the Forbes ranking among the athletes with the best income in 2021, receiving 57.3 million dollars. Of his total in the previous year, only 2.3 million of his income comes from his participation in tournaments, while 55 million is from sponsorships.

Tennis players continue to dominate the top 10 of the highest-paid athletes, although in 2021 representatives of other disciplines appeared.

For example, the gymnast Simone Biles, who gave up participating in various competitions at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, had an income of 10.1 million dollars, of which 10 million came from sponsors.

From other disciplines, there are the golfers: Jin Young Ko, with earnings of 7.5 million dollars and Nelly Korda, with 5.9 million.
