Cologne (SID) – After a compulsory Corona break of more than two weeks, Alba Berlin has resumed play and suffered a defeat in the EuroLeague. In Italy, the German basketball champions lost 76-84 (40-38) to last year’s semi-finalist Armani Milan.
Alba last appeared on January 2nd due to numerous positive tests in the team. A total of five matches in the EuroLeague and Bundesliga have had to be postponed since then. However, the game in Milan was canceled on the original date (December 29) due to corona cases among the Italians.
“We have just come back from quarantine and it will be difficult to get full energy,” said Alba coach Israel Gonzalez before the game. The Berliners around top scorer Maodo Lo (13 points) kept the duel open for a long time, only in the last five minutes did Milan pull away decisively. The Bundesliga club now has six wins and twelve losses. The play-off spots are a long way off.
