Kuchta: I closed my mouth to those who didn’t believe me. I needed to change the environment

Jan Kuchta became the king of the Czech league scorers last year, this year he had the same success again. However, he will not add any more goals in the spring, as he transfers to Lokomotiv Moscow. How does he perceive his transfer?

Already in his youth, Kuchta was one of the promising football players who could get into the Slavia A-team. But then he couldn’t make it for a long time. He was a guest in Bohemians, Slovácko, Žižkov, Teplice, but he did not succeed anywhere.

Only in the end did he go on a transfer to Liberec, where he met his favorite coach Pavel Hoftych, with whom he knew from the youth national teams. He knew how to tame Kucht’s more complex nature, and the running striker restored his confidence on the pitch.

After one season, Slavia bought Kuchta back. And although a lot of people didn’t believe he could make it in a stitched jersey, the 25-year-old forward never fell out of the starting lineup, became king of the scorers, won the double and helped the stitchers to the quarterfinals of the European League.

“It’s as satisfying as I said. Some people didn’t believe me. I closed my mouth to those who didn’t believe I had it. I did it. I knew about myself that if I was healthy and trained, I could get to such a goal and play for such a club. Now people take me seriously, “ says Kuchta in an interview with iSport.

From the winter, the 25-year-old footballer will start in Russia. He is very much looking forward to Lokomotiv, he was very interested in the club, which has it followed in detail through data analysis.

“When I got an offer to join such a team, I was very attracted. They play in the Champions League, now the European League, with a background and opportunities at a completely different level than in the Czech Republic. I was immediately interested in everything, I couldn’t even say no. I appreciate that such a club and its coach Markus Gisdol have shown interest in me and I will be very happy to play in the colors of Lokomotiv, “ Kuchta enthusiastically describes his new engagement.

Although he scored 12 goals in Slavia in the autumn, another stay in Eden, according to him, would be over the thread. He was quite affected by the summer rejected offer from Stoke City, and there was a lot of competition to attack.

However, the offspring of the stitcher kept the number one attacker, but he felt that leaving now in the winter was the best solution.

“I needed to change the environment. I’m not saying it would hurt to stay here for another half a year, but I think I’m leaving at the right time. It would be hard for me already. I would play for a big club, but to lose this chance, I think it would affect me a lot. It would be blood. Hold me for another six months… I wouldn’t know what it would be like if I got injured or didn’t perform like that and was on the bench…, “ Kuchta declassifies his worries.
