European association also cancels European Cup indoor hockey in Almere

“We’ve had two years of talking, arranging, re-arranging, stopping and starting again. It hurts that we can’t host the tournament. We would have loved to see our teams and our guests play a wonderful tournament in Almere“, writes. the Dutch clubs in a statement.

The international hockey association FIH also canceled the world indoor hockey championships in Liège from 2 to 6 February.

The main class indoor hockey will continue as usual. The finals will be played on January 29 and the new Dutch champions will be announced. Those teams will then play for the European Cup next year, unless the pandemic throws a spanner in the works again.
