At the activities center, Fanny Cottier, coordinator of the adapted physical activities center (APA), unveiled the project aimed at people over 60: how to stay in shape at a certain age? The South Aveyron APA project is to discover in a playful way the joys of collective sport, supervised, adapted and secure physical activities in a five-week cycle. Handball, rackets, football, baseball, rugby without contact and without tackles, the goal is to seek to develop physical condition, prevent the risks associated with advancing age through collective sports games. A dietary and nutrition workshop, intercommunal meetings, cultural or sporting outings in groups of five to six people are also on the program.
The sessions, the first of which took place this Tuesday, January 18, will take place as much as possible outdoors, at the city stadium, at the rate of one session per week, on Tuesdays, from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., except during periods school holidays. Subsidized by the Conference of funders of Aveyron (Department, ARS, CPAM, Anah, Community of communes…) the annual membership is 50 €.
