Basketball. Women’s pre-national: Pouchin-Rarbarch, winning duo for Bretteville-sur-Odon

The Brettevillaises can smile: led by their duo Pouchin Rarbach, they largely won against Bayeux (79 – 38), Sunday January 16, 2022. (©DR.)

While the reserve of Dover was rested on this weekend in mid-January 2022, his match at Ifs having been postponed, Bihorel, in a trap match, managed to win on the floor of Deville (55-57), in high hen. L’ASPTT Rouen wins his second match of this new championship by winning on the floor of Sotteville (60-74). Alencon failed to repeat their December win over Equeurdreville, who mastered his match from the first to the last minute (44-60).

In the low hen, Vire continues its series of victories by winning on the floor of La Glacerie (53-73). Bretteville-sur-Odon relied on an “on fire” duo, Pouchin-Rarbarch, who compiled 46 points. Bayeux does not give up and still hopes for his first victory (79-38). Herouville, traveling to only five players due to Covid cases, managed to win, after extra time, on the floor of Tourlaville (67-73). Cherbourg puts his head back in the place by winning, at home, his duel against the Pays d’Auge (69-40).

The numbers of the day

0 – No home victory in the upper pool on this day.

5 – This is the number of 3-point shots scored by Camille Pouchin! She once again contributed to her team’s victory with her outside skill.

12 – This is the number of victories for Douvres and Bihorel since the start of the season. They are the only two teams that have not yet experienced defeat this season.

HEN HIGH

ALENCON 44 – 60 EQUEURDREVILLE (9-17 / 12-13 / 10-17 / 13-13)

Etienne De Bie (Alencon) “We had a sluggish start to the match where we couldn’t open our counter for almost four minutes… Equeurdreville took control of the match, we weren’t on the street. We make small mistakes on things we had seen. But we knew that this match would not be played at half-time even being behind. We had a good second half where we found more solutions on the zone attack but we lacked skill in a lot of situations. It’s unfortunate because we can’t open our counter in this new championship. The state of mind was good, we are certainly frustrated but we are not going to resign ourselves and get to work to continue to progress. »

Leslie Véron (Captain Equeurdreville) : “As we expected, the match was still very physical. Alençon are a good team, very fast, and the fight was tough on the side of both teams. We started the match well and put a gap of 8-10 points from the start. We then managed to maintain this gap despite a few periods of less good on our part (a lot of lost balls). But our defense held up and Alençon was less skilful than in our previous meetings. We were very happy to have won because we knew it was going to be very tough. We will try to repeat the feat against Rouen next weekend. »

LOW HEN

LA GLACERIE 53 – 73 VIRE (8-14 / 13-21 / 17-15 / 15-23)

Alex Zazzi (Coach La Glacerie) “When you don’t play, you can’t win, it’s as simple as that. When you only have two players involved, you can’t expect anything. We had a burst of pride at the start of the third quarter, which allowed us to come back to -6, but the damage was done. Too few players were involved when it was a game well within our reach. »

Emilie Ficet (Capitaine Vire) : “After the victory against Cherbourg, we had to confirm against La Glacerie. Opposite, 10 athletic and physical players, it was going to be complicated. In the first half, it takes time to get going. We lead the way all the way. There are some nice collective actions. We relax with a bad phase in the 3e quarter, the Glaceriennes come back a little to the score. Then, we don’t give up until the end of the match. We will have to be more concentrated and play more constructed against Bretteville-sur-Odon next Sunday in order to continue on this good momentum. »

LA GLACERIE : Bilengi-Kombo 4, Lemagnen 7, Dalegrand 7, Bonnissent 2, Sanchez 12, Guedon 3, Cossais 4, Ouambeti-Doyongo 2, Chaulieu, Traore 12.

BRETEVILLE-SUR-ODON 79 -38 BAYEUX (23-10 / 14-7 / 26-6 / 16-15)

Frank Dziuk (Coach Breteville/Odon) : “It was a match against Bayeux that we had to win at all costs. This is the good news knowing that we had three absent this Sunday: Cléa Petiton, Jennifer Guillois and Charlotte Etienne. So we left with little certainty. Even if the victory is wide, it’s never easy to play this type of match. Successful contract: apart from the fourth quarter where we lost our concentration a little, the match was good. »

Julien Dière (Interim Coach Bayeux) : “First match for us in this new championship which is starting… An away match against a great team from Bretteville-sur-Odon with a fairly complete squad. On our side, we move to seven and knew that the match would be complicated. We’re off to a good start but the all-terrain press area wears us out. Ball losses bring easy baskets and Camille Pouchin does the job on placed play. We fought with our weapons and the girls continue to not let go in this complicated season (the club will owe them a big candle in the future if the women’s sector manages to renew itself). We could have done better if the young referee had been more in the exchange. We lose our only interior on a whistle error (4e fault) chained with a technique without warning (5e fault)… A little frustrating for a player who never says anything and who came to help out. It wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the match but would have been a lot more fun for everyone. I hope that the girls will be able to fight for victory in some matches of this low pool. They deserve it. »

BRETEVILLE / ODON : L.Motier, Leroy 11, J.Motier, Leboucher, Joba 8, Pouchin 20, Rarbach 26, Jobe 14.
BAYEUX : Le Clouerec, Thomas 12, Lasne 6, Winkel 7, Lebrun 6, Castel 5, Victory 2.

TOURLAVILLE 67 – 73 HEROUVILLE (19-16 / 17-17 / 7-13 / 17-14 / 7-13)

Adodo Djondo (Coach Tourlaville) : “It’s a match lost against Hérouville, with a complicated atmosphere with the virus. We had managed to be seven with the U18F who had played on Saturday and Hérouville showed up with five players. It was a fun game offensively and defensively. I am satisfied with the performance of the girls even if we could have done more. An experienced team opposite who played fair and punished us for mistakes. »

Maxime Cosnefroy (Coach Herouville) : “Match in Tourlaville, which we wanted to move because of the Covid case, but nothing came of it, the two parties not finding an agreement… We left at five for an adventure in the Cotentin. The idea was to play a game of stragglers in order to control the pace and spend our energy intelligently. It was done by staying in contact in the first half, limiting our faults and favoring the half field. We manage to go ahead in the second half and even have a 9-point lead in the fourth quarter. But a soft blow bringing less lucidity allows our opponents to come back and take us into extra time. As we have energy left, we switch to a slightly more aggressive girl-to-girl defense which allows us to put several defensive stops and go and win this match. I salute the courage and rigor of the girls who were remarkable, proof of this is the applause received when we left the gymnasium to return to our stronghold for a well-deserved rest. »

TOURLAVILLE : Carel 16, E.Fauvel, C.Olivier 3, Banville-Estace 2, E.Fauvel 15, Eurie 23, C. Olivier 8.
HEROUVILLE : Jeanne 16, Saiter 19, Cairon 4, Cybulska 24, Percheron 10.

CHERBOURG 69 – 40 PAYS D’AUGE (15-8 / 23-12 / 15-7 / 16-13)

Pierre-Olivier Giot (Coach Cherbourg) : “We had a decent first half despite many lost balls. The girls stayed serious in the second half to increase the points gap a little more. The return of our two versatile players has allowed us to improve our collective game. First victory at Nordez, now we have to continue. »

Jean-Michel Capel (Pays d’Auge coach) : “Another match where we will have sought solutions individually and not collectively. Offensively, we have to be able to see beyond the first two passes in order to find the real collective solutions. Defensively, as long as we collect more than 35 points per half, we will not be able to compete against the opponents of this maintenance group. »

CHERBOURG : Villeneuve-Pasco 20, Nee-Dubreucq 12, Drean 6, Epaillard 7, Lecacheur 14, Poisson 3, Bouin 7.
TROUGH COUNTRY : Colliot 3, Simon 10, Joly 6, Chazal 5, Carpentier 4, Rethore 3, Kazinetz 9.
