Kyrgios and Medvedev: guaranteed show

It promises a show and it will surely be so. For the second round, the Australian Open Daniil Medvedev (2nd in the world ranking) and Nick Kyrgios (115th) will meet in an event that generates many expectations and you can tune in at dawn on Thursday (approximately 5:30) through Star + and all the ESPN platforms.

Although it is true that the close backgrounds of one and the other are very different (the Russian with important titles and a lot of filming, while the Australian arrived in Melbourne without playing since the US Open in September 2021), the meeting remains in I thrilled the tennis public for the particular characteristics of the protagonists.

Kyrgios, a tennis player away from the politically correct, a lover of the show and an executioner of Liam Broady at its Australian premiere, feeds on the big parties and it is there where he usually uses his best versions. It is worth mentioning that the man born in Canberra has triumphs against Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, among other great figures.

For his part, Medvedev is the great candidate to stay with the tournament and thus lift the second Grand Slam trophy, after the success in the last US Open. The favorite suit belongs to the Muscovite, who won the first round against the Swiss Henri Laaksonen in straight sets; however, the Australian gets in his way like a huge obstacle to overcome.

It will be the third time they are face to face (first in Grand Slam) and whoever wins will get the ticket to the third round. In both the Masters 1000 in Rome and the ATP 500 in Washington, both in 2019, the winner was Nick Kyrgios.

Another outstanding match of the day is that of the former number one in the world, Andy Murray. The Scotsman, who thrilled the world with his first victory in five years at the Australia Open against Nikoloz Basilashvili, is measured (not before 3.30) with the Japanese Taro Daniel.
