Hans Kraay Jr. is shocked by the game image during FC Utrecht – Ajax. He saw the team from Amsterdam totally dominate the match and at a certain point he wondered whether the team from Utrecht were not in the minority.
‘At some point I started counting. I thought FC Utrecht had eight,” the reporter says football talk. “It looked like a big rondo with three free people on the ball. FC Utrecht simply did not have the ball in the first half and that is quite clever.’
The suggestion is made that the absence of the spectators played a role in FC Utrecht’s punishment, but Kenneth Perez thinks that is too easy. ‘We say that every time, but Ajax wins quite often at FC Utrecht. It’s getting more poignant now because there’s no audience to create a bit of atmosphere.’
‘You do know that you have to adapt against Ajax, don’t you?’
The third guest, Sinclair Bischop, is surprised about the tactics that FC Utrecht used. ‘Ajax lost to FC Utrecht (in the first half of the season, ed.), so I don’t understand why Hake didn’t just use the same tactics. I thought he was so naive. Ajax was good, but they just played 4-3-3 and gave away a lot of spaces. You know you have to adapt against Ajax, don’t you?’
