Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians has been fined $50,000 for hitting one of the players on his helmet during Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 69-year-old, however, intends to challenge his punishment.
“I’m going to appeal,” he said at a press conference on Wednesday. It has nothing to do with the game, so it’s fine.”
During the first round playoff clash against the Eagles, Arians stepped on the pitch and slammed Andrew Adams‘ helmet.
Monday, the head coach said he did not regret his gesture.
“We had just gotten a big game and a great position on the court. He [Adams] was trying to pull a guy out of the pile. I tried to stop him, so he wouldn’t get a penalty.”
The “Bucs” defeated the Eagles 31-15 and now they meet the Los Angeles Rams for a conference semi-final matchup. This duel is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
