January 18, 2022 – Feyenoord has acquired a potential sensation with Patrik Walemark, that is the general trend in South Rotterdam. The twenty-year-old Swede needs time to get fit and get used to his new environment, but is seen by Feyenoord as a future top player.
The ailing Feyenoord had about four million euros left for Walemark, proof that in South Rotterdam there is a feeling that a top player has been brought in. In his home country, the talented attacker has been frequently compared in recent months to Lionel Messi and Arjen Robben, two top players whose Walemark has touches to his game. According to technical director Frank Arnesen, he is also a Steven Berghuis type.

“Patrik has good technique in that refined left leg”, Arnesen told Football International about the attacker taken over from BK Häcken. “He is a stylist. That is important to us, because check: we didn’t have left-footed players in the front yet, huh. Moreover, he can also function as number 10. It ensures that we will have more opportunities in the front.”
In his own words, Arnesen underlines the vision that the club has been using for a short time with the arrival of Walemark. “Like Cole Bassett, he fits the profile and policy we now have: young, talented players who can develop, make the team better and also represent value.”
