In 2019, Christophe Henrotay was arrested in Monaco for money laundering and corruption practices in transfers. Among others the transfers of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Chancel Mbemba (both to Newcastle) and Youri Tielemans (to Monaco) are in the sights of investigators. All these transfers were carried out in close collaboration between Henrotay and Herman Van Holsbeeck.
