Instagram Tests Paid Subscription Feature That Could Benefit Creators – DoNews

DoNews January 20 news (Liu Wenxuan) Instagram launched a YouTube-like subscription service for content creators, providing creators with more ways to make money. The feature was spotted as early as November last year, but it’s only now really entering beta, with a small group of U.S. creators already offering exclusive content to their subscribers through the service.

Subscribers will also have a badge that others can see when commenting on a subscriber’s entry or sending a private message. Instagram creators currently receiving this new feature include actors, basketball players, astrologers, dancers, digital creators, Olympic winners and more.

With this new subscription service, creators can choose their own price points to provide exclusive content, ranging from $0.99 to $99.99 per month, creators are free to choose.
