Special Guest of a all sports (France 3) special, Thomas Pesquet received a funny video message from judokate Clarisse Agbégnénou. She offers him a crazy challenge, to which he responds with a good dose of humor.
To a very special guest, exceptional setting! This Wednesday, January 19, the host of France 3 Fabien Lévêque received in All Sports french astronaut Thomas Pequet, just a few weeks after the latter’s return to Earth following a long mission on board the ISS. The interview was shot from the Musée de l’Homme, located just opposite the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It was an opportunity to highlight the passion of Anne Mottet’s companion for sport. We remember his lovely dedication to the athletes involved in the last Olympic Games in Tokyo. The trained aeronautical engineer has a particular affection for basketball, which he played when he was younger. For the record, it was while playing in Dieppe that he first crossed paths with a certain Tony Parker, since the father of the former NBA star also played there.
Clarisse Agbégnénou challenges Thomas Pesquet and wants to fight with him
Thomas Pesquet was also a black belt in judo. He therefore necessarily had a particular emotion during the Olympic coronation of Clarisse Agbegnenou, on July 27. He is full of praise for the one who was the flag bearer of the tricolor delegation in Japan: “I’m a big fan of Clarisse, she’s a machine. She wins everything. I think she really has an incredible personality”. And a little surprise, the Rennes judoka sent a message to the astronaut, which turned out to be a somewhat crazy challenge. “When are you taking me with you to space for a little judo fight? I’m sure I’ll beat you, at home”, she says, with a smile.
The astronaut ready to take up the challenge, but it’s going to be complicated…
An arrest that hit home. Thomas Pesquet, happy with this attention paid to him by the champion, recognizes that his chances of winning a fight against her would be slim. Then he adds: “Afterwards, judo in space is complicated! You would have to modify the rules of judo, use the walls, use the ceiling… It’s not impossible, but it takes a little work”. Before finally responding to the champion’s invitation by launching, in a falsely provocative tone: “We’ll talk about it, Clarisse”. This sequence full of friendship is to be found in our zapping above.
