Lipari, judo master acquitted of sexual abuse charges: investigations on witnesses start

The judge of the Barcelona court Pozzo di Gotto Antonino Orifici sent the documents to the prosecutor to assess the position of the witnesses in the trial that involved a judo master from Lipari, first accused of “sexual acts” and then acquitted. Also filed the reasons for the sentence.

The investigative activity began with a complaint presented by an offended person in November 2018, following which immediate investigations were carried out by the carabinieri who collected elements according to them useful for reconstructing other episodes of sexual violence against two athletes at the age of the minor facts. The carabinieri, following a complaint presented by FF and his sister M., began the investigations that led to the arrest – in 2020 – of the master BG, then 63 years old.

At the outcome of the trial the man was acquitted of the charges because the facts do not exist. President Orifici ordered the transmission of the documents to the prosecutor “in order to evaluate the declarations made by the civil parties FF and MF, as well as the SS and RS texts for the reasons given in the motivation, and by the witness DS”.

After 11 months spent under house arrest, the master was recognized for his reasons, demonstrating documentally, and with 26 witnesses in defense, to be in places and times other than those indicated in the complaints. He was defended by the lawyer Alessandro Mirabile.
