The current seventh on Saturday (8.30 p.m.) is the favorite in the game in the penultimate table. The hosts lost eight games in a row, but also had almost two weeks without a game.
Towers coach Pedro Calles, whose team was active four times including the European Cup, wants to deal less with the opponent. “We have a better chance if we look at ourselves because we can’t control the circumstances.” Among other things, the Spaniard faces the task of setting up his team correctly. On Tuesday, the Towers clearly lost in the European Cup against the top team Partizan Belgrade, but had to stand their ground in front of 5,000 enthusiastic fans. In Gießen, on the other hand, a maximum of 170 spectators are allowed. “It’s a big difference,” said Calles.
Justus Hollatz referred to the first leg. “We played well for long stretches, but then we lost our energy.” This must not happen again. For him, however, there could be a motivation boost from the stands: “My family comes from Giessen.” Grandma, grandpa, aunt and uncle have announced themselves.
