as well announced Granma, the Olympic qualifying period for judo heading to Paris-2024 will begin on June 24 and will run until June 23, 2024.

Likewise, some of the novelties in terms of rules and arbitration were announced to provide the sport with greater dynamism and attraction for fans and the media.

Thus, the International Judo Federation (IJF) confirmed its calendar for 2022.

The 2022 season starts with the Grand Prix of Portugal, agreed from the 28th to the 30th of this month, and where the new guidelines will be put into practice. Next come the Grand Slams in Paris (FRA, February 5-6), Tel Aviv (ISR, February 17-19) and Tbilisi (GEO, March 25-27).

For the month of April, the event of the same level will take place in the Turkish city of Antalya (1-3) and in May, in the Russian city of Kazan (20-22). Dusseldorf will host the Grand Slam between June 4 and 6, while the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar, will host it from June 24 to 26, kicking off the Olympic qualifier.

In July, the capitals of Hungary and Croatia will also hold Grand Slam tournaments from 8 to 10 and from 15 to 17, respectively, to make way for the 40th edition of the World Championship with Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as the host city from October 2 to 9 .

The world calendar will close with the Grand Slams in Abu Dhabi (UAE, October 21-23), Baku (AZE, November 4-6) and Tokyo (3-4). The venue for the Masters Tournament remains to be defined.
