Jallow the man of the situation, Jaziri misses the mark

Tunisia“>Gambia snatch the draw on the wire against Mali”>Jallow‘s superb goal, Gaye‘s decisive save or Jaziri’s missed penalty: the tops and flops of Gambia-Tunisia (1-0)

TOPS

Jallow still goalscorer
Author of two of the three Gambian goals, the former Messin once offered victory to Gambia with a sublime goal against Tunisia (1-0). Coming back from the locker room, Ablie Jallow patiently waited for his time to bury Tunisia and allow all of Gambia to rejoice.

Gaye’s decisive save
Thanks to its decisive save in the 44th minute of play, Gambia was able to continue, and did well, to believe in victory. While Gambia suffered from the start of the match and bet everything on the counter-attacks, Jaziri obtained a penalty which he decided to transform himself. It was without counting on the great Baboucarr Gaye, goalkeeper of the German 4th division who was celebrating his third tenure with Gambia, who lay perfectly on the trajectory of the ball. In a match with such a narrow gap, the result is often decided on details, and this decisive save by Gaye is clearly the turning point of the match.

FLOPS

Jaziri, the opportunity not to be missed
In an ultra-padlocked match by the Gambian defense, Jaziri had the opportunity to put Tunisia in the perfect situation before returning to the locker room. Unfortunately, the Tunisian striker missed his shot on goal, like Khazri and Msakni before him, proof of a Tunisia lacking in offensive serenity.

The lack of spectacle
Between the state of the lawn, the very defensive game of the Gambians and the lack of inspiration of the Tunisians, this match is far from being the most interesting of this AFCON. Very few actions to put in their mouths, a lot of imprecision and few stakes (since the two teams were guaranteed to qualify for the eighth) this match will perhaps remain in the memory of the Gambians, but not of the soccer fans. It took until the 92nd minute to see a goal. A disappointing game overall.
