Two-time Gagarin Cup winner Pestunov strengthens HK “Liepāja”

Liepāja” currently takes the third place with 29 points in 21 games. According to the weekly calendar published by the Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF), one game is planned for Liepaja – on January 22 against “Olimp / Venta 2002“.

According to the LHF website, Liepāja has strengthened its line-up with striker Dmitry Pestunov. The 36-year-old hockey player has played in teams such as Magnurgogorsk Metallurg, Moscow’s Spartak, Omsk’s Avangard, Chelyabinsk’s Traktor, Moscow’s Dynamo, Ekaterinburg’s Avtomobilist, Romania’s Gyergyoi, Hungary’s DEAC and Soligorsk’s Shakhter, which was the hockey player’s last stop.

KHL Pestunovs spent the most productive season in the distant 2008/2009. in the season, when Omsk “Avangard” stood out with seven goals and 34 assists. Twice with Oleg Znarok and Harry Vitolins as part of the Moscow Dynamo (2012 and 2013), Pestunov won the Gagarin Cup.

In total, KHL Pestunov has played 462 games in the regular championship and 70 playoffs. As a member of Soligorsk, the hockey player stood out with 35 goals and 12 assists in 35 games this year.
