From spring to fall, the Sports and nature station in Belle-Isle-en-Terre offers, during each school holiday period, a rich and varied entertainment programme.

The headquarters of the station may well be at Belle-Isle-en-Terre, the activities take place over a large territory ranging from Pontrieux to Carnoet.

The idea was to offer families outdoor sports and nature discovery activities in areas where there was a lack of supply (kayak, mountain biking, archery, orienteering, treasure hunting, etc.). .

Activities that have lasted for three years

The year 2021 was marked by strong development of long-term projects. The resort has tried to enhance certain sites through fun activities that draw on the strengths of localities such as heritage, whether natural or historical. This work translates into orienteering courses, geocaching, new circuits or major games.

They have, for example, led giant treasure hunts in many towns: nature and sport in Callac, the legends of Menez-Bré (Louargat-Pédernec), the countryside of Bourbriac or the secret corners of the Léguer valley in geocaching.

The station is also carrying out in-depth work to develop soft mobility (“Ploubazlanec à Carhaix” road bike project or the car-free discovery of the territory from the stations).

987 participants

In a few figures, in 2021, 51 events were offered for a total of 987 participants. A very promising result given the health constraints that had to be complied with. These figures do not include self-guided participants who have taken advantage of the marked mountain bike circuits or orienteering courses.

Recruitment

To face this new year well, the sports and nature station will recruit a new animator or a new animator from the end of February. A profile that can frame nature sports activities such as mountain biking or kayaking.

2022 should be even richer in animations. New orienteering courses and geocaching should flourish in the area during the year.
