In the state shooting championship organized by the Berlin-Brandenburg Archery Federation in Germany, the zihgir (thumb ring) and thumb technique shooting category was inaugurated, and shooting with traditional Turkish bows was practiced for the first time.
An association called “Kemankes Germany” was established 7 years ago in Berlin, the capital of Germany, to keep traditional Turkish archery alive.
Muzaffer Turk, succeeding in promoting traditional Turkish archery in Berlin and throughout the country through the association he founded, he received the necessary training with his own efforts and became the owner of the trainer’s license.
Working closely with the Berlin-Brandenburg Archery Federation in this process, Türk got the federation to agree to practice Turkish archery using the zihgir and thumb technique at state championships as a result of initiatives.
In this way, traditional Turkish bows were practiced for the first time at the state shooting championship that took place in the Wilmersdorf district of Berlin.
