Haaland’s doctors put on the worst

Erling Haaland had to be substituted this past Saturday during Borussia Dortmund‘s 2-3 victory against Hoffenheim after suffering a puncture in the groin. The extent of his injury remains unknown, although everything indicates that the Norwegian striker should not be absent for too long. Of course, about half an hour before requesting the change, the BVB medical department feared the worst after another hair-raising scene that set off alarms on the bench of the reigning Pokal champion.

It all happened a quarter of an hour into the game, when Haaland sprained his knee trying to catch a cross. The killer went to the ground, clutching his leg painfully. The club’s doctors jumped onto the pitch, who did not hesitate to do the drawer test, through which experts explore whether the cruciate ligament is damaged or not. They were minutes of uncertainty for all the members of Borussia, especially for its general manager, Hans-Joachim Watzke, who watched the scene with a serious face from the stands.

Fortunately, Haaland’s knee was in good condition, so he was able to continue on the grass of the PreZero Arena until he ended up suffering from his groin and, this time, he had to be replaced. At Signal Iduna Park they hope that their star can recover during the break to be ready again on February 6, the date on which the bees will face Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. His goalscoring record shows that he is irreplaceable: he has 80 goals in 79 appearances for BVB.
