The handball players discovered two cameras in their locker room after Monday’s training. The club reported everything to the police, who caught the alleged perpetrator. The suspect who set the cameras in the team’s cabin is supposed to be someone close to the club. “This disgusting act, moreover from a trustworthy person, is simply shocking and it has hit us all hard,” said Metzingen manager Ferenc Rott on the club’s website.
The handball coach of Zlín slapped his opponent’s players for the first time. Why?
The leadership of the highest women’s league in Germany condemned the disgusting act and confirmed that the investigation was still ongoing. “Such a crime contradicts all the values that we, as HBF, represent together with our clubs. The club can be sure of the full support of HBF, “said the head of the women’s Bundesliga Andreas Thiel.
“In these difficult times, we have received a lot of support from the police, the union and other teams,” said Rott, who gave the players several days off to be with their families.
The players sent a clear message
The Metzingen handball players spoke together on a social network and gave a clear message: “We will not let anything get anyone down. Women’s handball stands with each other and resolutely defends all those who threaten us and our sport. Our solidarity is greater than any rivalry, any game, any goal! ”
Handball accelerated. And I calmed down, laughs handball coach Trtík
This is the second such scandal in less than six months. Last September, hidden cameras were found in the showers of both the home and away teams before the women’s Bundesliga match between Buchholz-Rosengarten and Bietigheim.
