The Historical Committee has several dates and anecdotes about the Amicale laïque Quéven.
Here are some of them: in 1972, creation of the judo section of which André Nicolas was the pilot for more than two decades.
In 1984, this section was joined by the karate section (Christian Le Scouézec).
Tennis has 525 registered in 85-86 (in 1983, Yannick Noah won Roland Garros). At that time, there were more adherents to tennis than to football. The tennis players (and women) left the ALQ in 1987 to create the Tennis-club de Quéven (TCQ).
A major sport in France today, men’s handball arrived at the ALQ in 1983, then the women’s team was born in 1985, which began to reverse the initial trend: team sports at the CSQ (Club sportif quévenois) and sports individuals to the ALQ.
Very strong gymnastic activities are emerging: sports gymnastics (Jean Le Calvar and Michel Bodin are the coaches), soft gymnastics (Micheline Joguet and Gisèle Keryhuel), rhythmic dance (Anne Maigne), modern (Dominique Maynil), classical (Martine Riou ). In addition and for a few years, starting in 1984, a roller hockey section participated in the championships.
