DIM stood up for Antioquia on the first date of the Betplay-1 League

Medellín beat Tolima 1-0 and was the only team in the region to win on the first date of the Betplay-1 League.

Independiente Medellín was the last hope that Antioquia soccer had to celebrate a victory on the first date of the Betplay-1 2022 League and they achieved it, 1-0 with a goal from Felipe Pardo.

The game started and the red team had a good performance in the first 20 minutes, with goal arrivals and submitting Tolima, but they did not take advantage of that momentum to open the scoring and then the visiting team adjusted their system and leveled the charges.

Despite the eight casualties that the scarlet cast had due to covid, coach Julio Comesaña managed to have a competitive payroll in which players such as Yulián Gómez, Venezuelan José Hernández Chávez, Andrés Ricaurte and Diber Cambindo stood out.

However, these players, as is normal after the preseason, could not sustain that performance and were diluted with the passing of the minutes.

The substitutions came and among them were the Argentine Luciano Pons and Felipe Pardo, who were the architects of the only goal of the match.

It was the 85th minute and the Argentine reinforcement fought a ball in the Tolima area, after the rejections the ball was left to Pardo who finished off for the celebration of the more than 20,000 fans who accompanied the Powerful in its premiere.

In addition to the victory, it is worth highlighting the defensive performance of Medellín, which did not allow Tolima to generate greater risk in attack and, when it did, goalkeeper Luis Erney Vásquez appeared well, who replaced Andrés Mosquera, summoned to the Selection.

So the red started off on the right foot and ended up standing up for Antioquia, after the draws of Águila and Nacional, and the defeat of Envigado.

On the second date, those led by Comesaña will visit Patriotas, on Thursday (3:00 pm)
