While Germany’s currently best tennis player Alexander Zverev (24) went down in three sentences in the round of 16 at the Australian Open, his girlfriend Sophia Thomalla (32) had to watch TV in Germany. Why was his pretty lucky charm missing this time?

Sophia had to work. Your management to BILD: “We had several options and also tried to get a visa for Australia. But that was not so easily possible. Although Sophia is of course boosted.” And further: “It would also have been disproportionate to want to go there, while many Australians cannot even go to their families because of the measures.”

But: It looks good that Thomalla will be in the stands again as a lucky charm when her boyfriend next appears on the ATP tour. Zverev plans to start at the tournament in Acapulco in February and later in Miami. Sophia has already kept the appointment calendar free for the trip to America.
