First, Cascades honcho Eraklis Tvavellas was named General Manager of the Year for the second time. During the off-season, the general manager got his hands on Shawinigan’s Raphaël John Leblanc during the 1st round, as well as Christophe Dubé and Samuel Girard. Tzavellas also traded to add Xavier Tremblay as pitcher. This is the second title for the general manager in his sixth season. “I’m proud of what the guys have accomplished. Very happy also for my head coach who did a colossal job. Shawi deserved to win an important sports championship. A special thank you to all of our fans who have supported us for the past seven seasons,” Eraklis Tzavellas said in a statement.
Then, in his first season with the Cascades, Jean-Philippe Lemay received the title of coach of the year. “From the outset, I would like to congratulate Bruno Laurin and Joel Fortin for their appointment and salute the work they have accomplished this season. Already named at the end of the Cascades championship last fall, Gabriel Thibodeau officially received his playoff MVP award. His plate average stands at .403 while he hit no less than 23 hits in 57 official batting appearances, including 4 doubles and a major homer in the opening inning of the last game that gave his team the title. Michel Dagenais was named to the all-star team as an outfielder. In his second season, he had a .468 batting average, 7 doubles, 7 homers, and 20 RBIs.
