The 49th year of the traditional international meeting Jablonecká hala took place in the north of Bohemia, which again offered a very interesting athletic spectacle full of great performances on the sprint level and in the sectors of technical disciplines.

For Tomáš Staňek, the Jablonec Hall was the first start of this season and the reigning European Indoor Champion did not do badly at all. The first measured attempt recorded 20.06. Subsequently, there was an improvement to 20.38 and the longest attempt was made in the fourth series, when his tools fell on 21.18. Another twenty-one-meter litter was then demonstrated on the fifth attempt, when he sent the ball to a distance of 21.04. As expected, he clearly dominated the competition. The second was his training colleague from Petr Stehlík’s group, David Tupý. Last year’s UEFA 23-year-old finalist scored best 16.94.

Helena Jiranová took care of a very pleasant surprise at the 60 obstacles. It was not so much that she won, but in what performance she achieved her first place. Already in the start-up, the two-year-old person improved from this meeting by six hundredths to 8.14, thus running the entry standard for the start of the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade. In the final, it significantly knocked him down to 8.07, which is the fastest Czech time in this distance in the last nine years. Jiranová jumped to the third place in the historical national tables. The close duel for second place sounded better for the Ukrainian Natalia Jurčuková (8.24) before Markéta Štolová (8.25, in the start 8.24). Adam Sebastian Helcelet was the fastest over the men’s hurdles, the only one to squeeze his time under eight seconds, specifically the timekeeper at the finish showed 7.96. In addition, he tested his form in the ball circle, where he improved his season maximum to 15.07.

In the final of the sixties, Jan Veleba and Zdeněk Stromšík shared it in another of the traditional fights. Veleba was faster in it this time, who ran 6.68 at this year’s racing premiere, which is only three hundredths behind his personal maximum. Stromšík leaned to the finish line two hundredths later and a time of 6.70 means a shift in seasonal performance from Ostrava. The discovery of the race was undoubtedly junior Filip Jarolímek, who significantly improved his personality to 6.75, thanks to which he got to the third position of historical statistics in the under-20s category. Jan Jirka also confirmed a good speed form with a personal record of 6.79. He achieved this performance in the start and was only a hundredth slower in the final.

Nikola Bendová had no competition among women. She adorned her return to the race track after an injury with a personal record of 7.35. She thus surpassed her two-year-old record by three hundredths. In the final, she clearly reigned in 7.36. Natálie Kožuškaničová was second in 7.50 (in 7.49) and the young Slovak Viktoria Forsterová finished third in 7.52 (in 7.50).

The long-distance competition belonged to Radek Jušek. This was also the first start for him this year. The Czech record holder reached the farthest in the third series at 784 centimeters. He was followed by the British duo Samuel Khogali (743) and Efé Uwaifo (734). The only long-distance rider who got over six meters was Michaela Kučerová. She won in 608 centimeters.

In the men’s pole, the winner was decided by a better record. Matěj Ščerba and Dán Bárta defeated 535 centimeters in the second attempt. Until then, however, Scherba was completely clean, so he could enjoy the primacy of Jablonec. The third Jiří Sýkora also had reason to rejoice, setting an absolute personal record of 505. Jan Kudlička also beat the same value. However, unlike our multi-combatant, he needed more attempts. Sýkora also ran a smooth sixty in 7.05.
