Tino Asprilla wishes Yaser success and hopes he will get over it

“As I go, with humility, I think I’m going to be better than him. I believe in my characteristics and in my talent. I know that this experience and this beautiful career of playing soccer will be very nice”. Those were Yaser Asprilla‘s statements last Friday when he was asked if he saw himself surpassing Faustino Asprilla, one of the best players in the history of Colombian soccer, in the future.

Yaser’s words generated debate and controversy in the country. Many called it ‘enlarged’ and others defended it for a question out of context. The 18-year-old, summoned to the Colombian National Team for the Qualifiers, answered what he felt and with dignity in his first big press conference.

I wish him good luck from the bottom of my heart, he has many conditions. Surely he can give a lot to Colombian football and the national team, and I hope he has a brilliant career”, said Tino Asprilla at VBar.
