Lucien Favre ready for a new job: is a Bundesliga club going? – Bundesliga

Will we see Lucien Favre (64) again soon in the Bundesliga?

More than a year ago, on December 13, 2020, the Swiss was released in Dortmund. Since then he has been without a job.

Now it’s burning again.

Favre in an interview: “At some point you sit at home and realize: I want to go back, I need the space, I have to kick a ball, smell the football, feel the adrenaline.”

One thing is certain: Favre knows the Bundesliga well and worked for Hertha (2007 – 2009) and Gladbach (2011 – 2015) before Dortmund

Who accesses Favre? With two clubs whose coaches are on probation, he could soon become an issue…

Gladbach: Only three points away from relegation place 16. Adi Hütter (51) wobbles, still gets the two basement crackers in Bielefeld (5.2.) and against Augsburg (12.2.).

Tendency: Favre can do something in Gladbach. The fans still love him. He saved their club from an almost hopeless situation in 2011 and has a reputation as a player improver and tactics guru. That’s exactly what Gladbach needs. The fact that he left Gladbach in a hurry after a false start to the 2015/16 season with five bankruptcies in a row has long been forgiven.

Wolfsburg: Florian Kohfeldt (39) has not won in eleven games. Against Fürth (February 6th) the motto is: win or fly. Jörg Schmadtke (57) makes that clear. The managing director: “I don’t want to hide the fact that this game has an endgame character. But not just for the coach, but for everyone involved.”

Tendency: Favre could also become an issue in Wolfsburg. Schmadtke appreciates trainers who work meticulously. Against Favre speaks: Schmadtke attaches great importance to communication and would like to be taken along by the coach. Favre is considered more of a loner.
